In 2022, I was playing catch with a baseball every day of the year as a fundraiser for The Miracle League of Sioux City, sharing the Miracle League story with people all over the world. While in Tanzania, I taught the employees of Shanga how to play catch. They had never seen a baseball, glove, or bat. It was an incredible experience for all of us. When I returned later that year, they presented me with a similar art piece as the one I am giving you.
Their impression of a baseball, that the glass blowers had made for me. I then commissioned them to make more of the same pieces.
This piece, though not a perfect rendition of a baseball, is created with great love, joy and excitement. The same emotions that your gift allows The Miracle League to provide our athletes and their families.
